I took the other half of the container of spicy bulgogi my girlfriend made me and put it with some brown rice and some Korean side dishes I had in the fridge.

Leftovers from Dinner

Meal: lunch (Tue 10/5)
From: my fridge
Cost: (to me) free
Location: my kitchen

I had some leftovers from dinner, in fact, my meal was identical to my dinner the night before: bulgogi and Korean side dishes.

Taste: still delicious.
Conclusion: I like Korean food, and I like beef...

Drink: a cold can of Coke Zero.

Korean Food!

Meal: dinner (Mon 10/4)
From: my fridge
Cost: (to me) free
Location: my kitchen

I got home after a couple of hours of playing basketball and I was starving. My girlfriend had been nice enough to give me a container of beef marinated in Korean BBQ sauce (bulgogi). I still had a few Korean side dishes left as well. I cooked up the beef in a frying pan and dinner was ready:

I was too lazy to make rice and too hungry. The beef was very thinly sliced and cooked up fast, making rice would have taken over 30 minutes, so I decided to skip the rice. Fortunately, the beef and side dishes was just enough to stave off starvation.

Taste: GREAT!
Conclusion: a nice reprieve from the crap I normally have for dinner on a weekday.

Drink: ice water

Even More Korean Food!

Meal: dinner (Sun 10/3)
From: my girlfriend's kitchen
Cost: super free!
Location: my girlfriend's place

So for dinner out came ALL of the food leftover from the wedding my girlfriend's parents went to...

Korean side dishes, this time including fried squid and fried shrimp!

Kalbi stew! Lots of kimchi (and some cabbage soup not from the wedding).

Taste: I have to say the fried shrimp and the kalbi stew were awesome, well the kalbi stew was the best.
Conclusion: I wish I had some more of that kalbi stew...

Drink: a glass of ice water.

Lazy Sunday Morning Breakfast

Meal: breakfast (Sun 9/19)
From: my fridge
Cost: indeterminable, from the groceries my girlfriend picked out and I paid for.
Location: my kitchen

This is just something my girl friend quickly threw together for breakfast.

Kimchi fried rice and pork with tofu rounds.

A second look.

Taste: pretty good
Conclusion: no complaints, much better than my typical breakfast of some kind of dough-based product.

Drink: ice water

End of the 1st Quarter, Time for Dinner!

After the first quarter of the Jets-Ravens game, I realized two things: (1) the game was going to be ugly, real ugly; and (2) the toast and spinach dip was not going to cut it as a full meal (dinner time!).

Meal: dinner (Mon 9/13)
From: my fridge
Cost: [to me] FREE!
Location: my kitchen

I went back to my fridge in search of "dinner," this is what I found...

I found some left over steamed frozen vegetables [looked to be only about two days old] and some left over canned beans/mixed vegetables [I think from a dinner I had last week]. I threw them together and put them in the microwave for a couple of minutes.

I also found some brown rice someone had left in the fridge from a night or two before.

Courtesy of my girlfriend some Korean side dishes (assorted pancakes [seafood, kimchi, and mushroom]).

The vegetables tasted like crap, so I poured some oyster sauce on them, which made them only bearable.

I threw the various pancakes on top of the brown rice, all the grease from cooking them mixed with the rice was delicious.

Taste: the vegetables with the oyster sauce covering the heinousness was only acceptable, and the grease covered pancakes were the highlight of the meal, the brown rice just acted as additional filler.
Conclusion: a cheap and filling meal.

Drink: a can of Diet Dr. Pepper with ice.

Iron Man Edition!

Dessert: black cherry jello

I wanted something to finish my meal, I found some half eaten jello in my fridge, so I ate it.

Spicy Korean Pork Belly over Rice

I was again starving after my successful fantasy football draft. I managed to snag Chris Johnson and Andre Johnson with my first two picks. We went with an auction style draft this year, which took a lot longer than usually, over two hours. Nothing like some good Korean food to fill the belly. My girlfriend made some Korean style spicy pork belly, which was delicious. It was a little spicy, but not too much so, and smothered in onions. Paired with some radish over rice, a great dish.

Taste: yummy!
Conclusion: Korean food always tastes good.

Drink: a nice glass of ice water.
