CURRENT FOOD CRAVING: medium rare rib-eye steak... [Sunday, February 9, 2014, 10:51 p.m.]

What Awesome Deal Did I Get?

Although this is not about food, this is a story I just need to tell.

Deal: clothing (20 pairs of "no-show" ankle socks)
From: Kohl's
Cost: $0.50 (Yes you read that correctly!)
Location: Queens
When: Sat 9/11

So I had one of those $5 off $5 coupons for Kohl's and I wanted to get couple of pairs of "no-show" style ankle socks. Some of the socks I currently own are anywhere from 5 to 10 years old. And many of them need to be throw out. Therefore, replacements were becoming necessary. Kohl's had some Hanes brand socks marked on sale from $11 to $3.30. I happily grabbed two 4-packs figuring I would end up spending $1.60 after my coupon (there is no sales tax on clothing in New York City for items under $110, although that law is being repealed, and then I will do all my clothes shopping in New Jersey to circumvent the tax, stupid Albany, tax is for suckers!). When I went to check out each pack rang up as only $1.10... which meant I needed to get more in order to use my coupon. Obviously the prudent thing was to grab three more packs, totaling 20 pairs of socks. So I checked out again and this was the result:

$55 worth of socks for 50 cents!

The socks...

MSPR $11

Deal Level: you cannot get a much better deal than this (except for free of course!).
Conclusion: now I have a lot of socks which were cheaper than my morning coffee!

Remarks: I wore a pair of these socks on Sunday, they were comfortable and appears durable and should last me another 5 to 10 years!
