Breakfast and Lunch for Wednesday, February 3, 2011

Wednesday, February 3, 2011

BREAKFAST
(made by my girlfriend, brought to my office)

I had some left overs from dinner so I decided to bring them to work for breakfast (and save a couple of bucks by not buying from the breakfast cart).

Pasta with Turkey Sausage

Taste: cold pasta is good for breakfast when you are starving.

LUNCH
(from Checkers)

The Big Buford

Checker's Fries

Taste: the pictures say it all...

The Big Buford Triple = TOO MUCH FOOD!

Thursday, January 27, 2011

LUNCH
When I asked a friend what I should eat for lunch, he mentioned a bacon cheese burger. That suggestion got me thinking. Maybe I do not need bacon (after all I had some yesterday with my lunch) but I could sure use a burger. I was torn between going to Wendy's or Checkers. I decided to go to Checkers because it is cheaper.

I ordered the Large Big Buford Triple Meal... which was probably too much food...

STATS:
Items: 1 Big Buford Triple, 1 large fries, 1 large drink
From: Checkers
Cost: $8.81 total

The Meal...

The Big Buford in its "box".

Can you see the three large patties of beef???

Taste: I think there was just too much beef, it over powered everything else... the fries were good as always.

Remarks: so much food I will probably skip dinner.

A Big Buford kind of lunch!

Meal: lunch (Wed 10/6)
From: Checkers
Cost: less than $8
Location: Lower Manhattan

My firm was supposed to have a farewell lunch for an intern, unfortunately the intern did not show up to work! So it appears for the time being that the farewell lunch has been pushed back a day to Thursday. Unfortunately, I did not bring lunch so... it was BIG BUFORD TIME!!!

Every week the Checkers near my office has a weekly special, this week it was some kind of "rodeo burger" which I was unsure of, so I went with the sure thing, the Big Buford.

The Big Buford
I have to say this burger is probably one of the top chain restaurant burgers out there. It definitely tops the Whooper and the Big Mac. I personally like it better than the Wendy's Single. It just has it all, from ample amounts of lettuce and tomato to red onions.

Checkers Fries
Slowly but surely these fries have become one of my favorites. They have this pepper seasoning that eliminates the necessity for ketchup.

Taste: simply awesome!
Conclusion: this meal was near the pinnacle of chain fast food meals.

Drink: a "medium" (32oz) cup of Diet Coke with ice.

THE BIG BUFORD!!!

Meal: lunch (Tue 9/28)
From: Checkers
Cost: less than $8
Location: Lower Manhattan

THE BIG BUFORD!!!

 Unparalleled Fries

Taste: THE BIG BUFORD: amazing as always! FRIES: you cannot beat the double fried and pepper goodness of the fries from Checkers.
Conclusion: well worth having crap for breakfast.

Drink: a medium (32oz) Diet Coke with ice.

The Big Buford

The #1 Meal (Big Buford with Medium Fries and a Drink)

Meal: lunch (Thu 9/2)
From: Checkers
Cost: less than $8
Location: Lower Manhattan (near my office)

The Big Buford
This was a pretty big burger, they had some kind of tasty special sauce, just delicious. I will have to order this again the next time I go to Checkers. The burger itself was simple: two beef patties, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions. Personally, I really like red onions, not really sure why.

The Fries
I love the fries from Checkers, they are always crispy (I think they are double fried) and they have some kind of pepper on it that makes it great with no need for any ketchup.

Taste: absolutely delicious!
Conclusion: hit the spot, I was craving a burger after seeing my mom watch some Food Network special last night about burgers.

Drink: medium diet coke (although it would be considered a large at most other places), fountain sodas with ice are just better when it is 90+ degrees out.
