Back to Bagels...

Meal: breakfast (Thu 10/14)
From: the breakfast cart around the corner from my office
Cost: $2.50
Location: Lower Manhattan

I decided to make it a cart breakfast morning. I was a bit hungry so I went with an onion bagel with cream cheese. I was just feeling it because I had not had a bagel in a while.

Taste: nothing special but it was good enough.
Conclusion: I felt like there was too much dough, I think I will return to pastries for breakfast.

Drink: a large coffee with milk and sugar

Dessert Time!

Meal: snack (Sun 9/19)
From: my kitchen
Cost: unsure (I pair for most of the ingredients in the pie and the ice cream.)
Location: my house

After getting home from dinner at my girlfirend's parent's house I realized I was still a little hungry. I still had most of an apple pie and a scoop of ice cream in the freezer...

Apple Pie with Butter Pecan Ice Cream
(Apple Pie homemade by my girlfriend.)

Taste: excellent, you can never go wrong with an American classic.
Conclusion: no wonder Americans are so fat.

A Delicious Dinner

Meal: dinner (Sat 9/18)
From: my fridge
Cost: indeterminable, from the same allotment of groceries my girlfriend selected and I paid for.
Location: my kitchen

My girlfriend decided to try something new so she tried her hand at a French dish, 'coq au vin', she read about. Basically it is chicken cooked in a wine sauce with carrots, onions, and mushrooms. To complete the meal she made some jasmine rice and pork with tofu rounds.

Coq Au Vin (chicken with wine) [French], jasmine rice, pork with tofu rounds [Korean].

Taste: I don't know how to describe the chicken other than F**KING awesome!

Dessert: apple pie with butter pecan ice cream.

My girlfriend decided to go all out and make an apple pie from scratch.

Homemade Apple Pie

The Dessert
