French Toast Please!

Meal: breakfast (Sat 9/18)
From: my fridge
Cost: I only paid for the eggs used in the french toast (less than $2 for one dozen medium sized eggs).
Location: my kitchen

My girlfriend decided to make some french toast, since she informed me the Chinese bakery bread I have been eating was not properly cooked and should not be used for normal consumption.

My girlfriend made some french toast while I fried up some ham, throw on some maple syrup and you have a real breakfast.

Before Maple Syrup

After Maple Syrup

Taste: without a doubt absolutely delicious.
Conclusion: french toast but a true American breakfast (probably unhealthy).

Drink: a nice glass of orange juice.

I think Tropicana makes the best orange juice (aside from free squeezed).

Lunch...

Meal: lunch (Fri 9/17)
From:
Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients (Ham and Cheese Sandwich)
-6 slices of ham
-2 slices of cheddar cheese
-2 large pieces of lettuce (chopped up)
-olive oil mayonnaise
-Chinese bakery bread (sweet)

I had some leftover Korean pancakes from dinner so I brought them along to supplement my lunch.

Taste: the sandwich had a sweet taste because of the bread, but it was pretty good. Although, I was pretty hungry because I was in a meeting all morning and ended up eating lunch about 30 minutes later than usual. The Korean pancakes were just as delicious as the night before.
Conclusion: I am not hungry anymore and I have no complaints other than I wish I had had a soda.

Drink: I forgot to bring a can of soda today, so instead I had some water from the office water cooler.

I am sick of ham and cheese already!

Meal: lunch (Thu 9/10)
From: my fridge
Cost: less than $2
Location: my kitchen

Ham, Turkey and Cheese Sandwich with Mustard on Wholewheat Bread

Nothing special here. Same lightly toasted wholewheat bread (to get the fridge made moisture out), same Target house brand ham, same Kraft Singles American Cheese. I added some Met Food house brand turkey and used French's Yellow Mustard. Strangely, the taste of the turkey and mustard was different enough that the sandwich had a different taste.

Taste: bland, bland, bland...
Conclusion: I am sick of eating this crap, thank god for the weekend, when I can eat some good unhealthy stuff.

Drink: a can of Coke Zero.

Coke Zero

Remarks: wish I could afford an unhealthy lunch...

Ham and Cheese w/ Sriracha?

Meal: lunch (Thu 9/9)
From: my fridge
Cost: less than $2
Location: my kitchen

I am really trying to save money right now, at least until the end of the month. Therefore, today was yet another sandwich from home day. Yesterday I had a ham and cheese sandwich... today I was going to have another, but I wanted to change it up a bit. A friend suggested I try putting Sriracha (chili hot sauce) instead of mustard. To be on the safe side I put Sriracha on one side and good old light mayonnaise on the other. As usual I lightly toasted the bread to get out the moister accumulated from being stored in the fridge. I then added two slices of American cheese and put ample amounts of ham.

My Sandwich

Materials
-Boiled Ham (Target house brand)
-American Cheese (Kraft "Singles")
-Wholewheat Bread (Arnold's "Soft")
-Light Mayonnaise (Hellman's)
-Sriracha (Huy Fong)

Taste: not bad, not bad at all. The Sriracha gives it a nice kick to change the flavor and make it less bland, although the texture remains the same as my sandwich from yesterday.
Conclusion: Sriracha is an easy way to make my sandwiches not taste all the same.

Drink: a nice cold can of Coke Zero.

Cost Cutting Lunch

Meal: lunch (Wed 9/8)
From: my fridge
Cost: less than $2 (I actually paid for all these sandwich materials this time)
Location: my kitchen
Ham and Cheese Sandwich with Spicy Mustard on Wholewheat Bread

Ham:Target house brand
Cheese: Kraft American Cheese
Bread: Arnold's Soft Wheat (needed to be lightly toasted to get the fridge induced moisture out)
Condiment: generic spicy mustard

Taste: a little bland, but cheaper than going out to eat.
Conclusion: I need to save money one way or another.

Drink: a can of Coke Zero
From: Stop & Shop
Cost: less than 40 cents
Location: Queens

Coke Zero

Remarks: Coke Zero tastes better than Diet Coke and has 0 calories...

Sunday Morning Chinese Breakfast

Meal: breakfast (Sun 9/5)
From: a Chinese bakery on Queens Blvd.
Cost: around $2
Location: Queens

Chinese Scallion Hot Dog Bun

I think there was a small amount of Cheese holding the scallions on the bun. This greasy bun is in my usual Sunday breakfast rotation, and for good reason, it is GOOD!

Chinese Ham and Corn Bun

The corn and ham were embedded in mayonnaise, that combo sounds weird but worked surprisingly well. This bun was pretty greasy, but tasty.

Taste: delicious
Conclusion: by the time I got my hands on these buns I was pretty starving, so these greasy delights were greatly welcome by my stomach.

Drink: a glass of homemade ice coffee.

Yellow Eggs And Ham

So I woke up early enough today to have a more proper breakfast. Nothing special, a fried egg with a piece of fried ham with wholewheat toast with some ketchup for flavor.

Ham and Egg on Wholewheat Toast

Meal: breakfast (Thu 9/2)
From: my fridge
Cost: still free for me!
Location: my kitchen

Not much to write here, just something to get me going for the day.

Taste: nothing to write home about, but good enough.
Conclusion: better than my normal breakfast of one granola bar.

Drink: some water, although I wish I had a nice big glass of orange juice.
